SERVICES: Pregnancy Testing: Pregnancy testing is on a walk-in basis, no appointment is necessary. There is no charge for this urine sensitive test. The recommended time to take a pregnancy test is when the patient is at least one week late from the missed period. The urine sensitive test is very accurate with quick results. Blood pregnancy tests are available for a minimal charge by appointment. Patients will meet with a counselor to discuss results and pregnancy options. Counseling: Counseling sessions are available to discuss concerns or questions that the patient may have regarding their health care needs. The health educators are experienced in pregnancy options counseling including parenting, adoption, and abortion. They can also provide patients with birth control options, sexually transmitted disease prevention and treatment information, gynecological care, healthy lifestyle planning (diet, exercise, smoking cessation, etc.), or any other health care concern. Prior to an abortion the patient will meet with a health educator or nurse to complete paperwork, answer patient questions, and discuss any concerns. Gynecological services: We provide a full range of gynecological services including:
Birth Control: Patients have many choices in the area of birth control. Now you need to decide which will work best for you. Please see our page "Pregnancy and Birth Control" for detailed information. The birth control options we have available are:
Patients receive counseling to discuss the proper use of their birth control option, side effects, and to answer questions. Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing, Diagnosis, and Treatment: We provide a range of STD tests for reasonable fees. Patients can choose to have a culture performed at the time of their exam or schedule an STD screening appointment. The following tests can be performed in our clinic with most results in 2-3 days.
Ultrasound: Ultrasounds can be scheduled to determine the gestation of a pregnancy; these are not diagnostic tests. Patients who are uncertain of their last menstrual period are recommended to get an ultrasound. Patients are counseled on gestation and pregnancy options. Abortion Services: We provide abortion services from 6 weeks to 16 weeks gestation, based on last normal menstrual period, using the vacuum aspiration method. Patients that are in their second trimester (12-16 weeks) may be required to have a two-day procedure. Please see our page "Second Trimester Abortion" for more information. The actual measurement of gestation is determined by ultrasound on the date of the procedure. A patient needs to call the clinic at least one day in advance to set up an appointment. On the date of the abortion the patient will spend from four to six hours in the facility, which includes the following steps for surgery:
Please see the section "Abortion Procedure" for more information and details. The abortion fee includes the above services. There is an additional fee for patients with Rh-negative blood needing Rhogam and patients with MVP or heart murmur. We accept most insurance plans and our insurance department would be pleased to assist you with your insurance coverage questions. HPV and Cancer Prevention/Treatment: A colposcopy is a special method using an instrument called a colposcope to magnify the cervix approximately fifteen times allowing the doctor to see more than during a routine pelvic exam. This method is recommended for a variety of reasons: an abnormal Pap smear, cervical abnormalities, or a history of HPV (Human Papiloma Virus - the virus that causes genital warts). A biopsy is when the doctor takes small pinches of tissue from the cervix to be examined by a pathologist. The pathologist will report back to the doctor with her/his findings of abnormal cells. Laser surgery may be needed to remove abnormal cells, tissue or lesions. Patients who need these services will be notified by a health educator. New patients to our center can call a health educator with questions and to set up an appointment for an exam and possible Colposcopy/Biopsy. Laser Surgery: During laser surgery, a laser beam viewed through an operating microscope (colposcope), is used to destroy abnormal cells, tissue or lessions. The energy of the laser beam, which is actually the most intense form of light known, causes the diseased cells to be instantly evaporated like water becoming steam. Laser surgery is recommended for patients with abnormal cells determined by a Pap smear or biopsy, cervical abnormalities, or HPV (Human Papiloma Virus - the virus that causes genital warts). A health educator can answer questions about laser surgery and schedule an appointment for patients. Family Medicine: We provide a full range of family medicine services including:
Urology: We are available to provide urology services for male patients including:
